Warticon (Wartec)

Warticon is an effective solution applied directly to the skin, which thanks to the presence of podophyllotoxin is highly effective in combating genital warts.

  • Warticon solution is applied directly to the infected skin.
  • Warticon attacks the nuclei of cells infected by genital warts, and prevents them from multiplying.
  • The active ingredient of the treatment is podophyllotoxin.
  • Warticon is available in the form of a cream or solution.

What are the benefits of using Warticon?

Warticon contains an extract of the root of Podophyllum, a plant of the family Berberidaceae. It is intended for topical application in the areas affected by genital warts. Unlike Aldara, Warticon does not require of you to wash it off the skin after some time. The use of Warticon guarantees complete elimination of genital warts within a few weeks. It would be difficult to find a more effective treatment of venereal warts.

How does Warticon (Wartec) work?

Podophyllotoxin contained in Warticon is a compound which stimulates the body’s natural defences. Clinical tests have proved that Warticon is an effective therapy which leads to the complete disappearance of venereal warts. The active substance binds to the immune cells located in the skin, and triggers the release of alpha interferon, which blocks the growth of abnormal cells.

Warticon solution can be thus successfully used in the symptomatic treatment of genital warts caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Using the treatment according to the instructions leads to a complete recovery even from an advanced stage of genital warts in a relatively short period of time. Dead warts are quickly replaced by healthy tissue, which further indicates the effectiveness of the treatment with the use of Warticon solution or cream.

Who can use Warticon?

Warticon – a treatment for venereal warts – can be used without limitations by most adults. Since Warticon is used externally, it does not affect sensitive internal organs which are usually subject to irritation in the course of a typical pharmacological therapy. The only limitation in the use of Warticon is being allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of the product. Also, Warticon should not be used to treat venereal warts located inside the genitals or anus.

Who should not use Warticon?

Despite its low toxicity, Warticon should not be used by:

  • pregnant women
  • women who are breastfeeding
  • children
  • patients with warts located inside the genitals or anus
  • by men who have not been circumcised and have warts under the foreskin
  • by patients whose warts form open wounds

Like most medications, Warticon should not be used if you are allergic to any of its components. In the case of an allergic reaction, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist, and immediately discontinue your use of the treatment.

How should the genital wart treatment Warticon be used?

  • Warticon should be applied directly to venereal warts twice a day for three consecutive days.
  • Before each application of the cream or solution, you should wash the skin where it will be applied with soap and water, and allow it to dry completely.
  • The treatment as a solution should be applied with an applicator. In such a case, you should apply Wartec solution directly to the wart and wait for the skin to dry completely. Do not rub the solution in the skin.
  • Treatment with the use of Warticon in the form of a cream involves applying a thin layer of the cream in the place where venereal warts have appeared.
  • After each application you should wash your hands thoroughly.
  • If a three-day treatment does not yield the expected results, your doctor may recommend that it be repeated. The therapy may be repeated for up to five weeks, so do not be discouraged by the lack of results in the first phase of treatment.
  • If the warts have not been eliminated by the end of the treatment, you should consult your doctor who might suggest a different type of treatment.

Does Warticon cause any side effects?

Theoretically, all medications affect patients in a different way. Therefore, there is always a risk of potential side effects, but they do not necessarily have to appear. The likelihood of side effects caused in the course of Warticon treatment is low, but there might occur some skin irritation, which usually disappears quickly.

If you notice any alarming symptoms which seem to be worsening, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.
