Microgynon 30 and Microgynon 21 are single-dose contraceptive pills, which means that every pill contains exactly the same amount of the hormones, hence it regular adoption is of utmost importance. The manufacturer recommends taking Microgynon for 21 days, after which period it is necessary to have a seven-day break from using the pills. During the seven-day break, symptoms can be experienced which may take a form similar to normal menstrual bleeding, but that shouldn’t be a cause of worry as it’s a normal reaction whose purpose is to cleanse the body from excess hormones.
Since the pills are sold in blister packs with the days of the week marked, you shouldn’t have any problems taking the pills in the correct order and on the correct day. If you happen to forget or miss one pill, you should take it as soon as possible. Forgetting to take a single pill should not reduce the level of protection. If you miss two pills, you should be aware that the level of protection has been reduced, and for the next seven days your partner and/or yourself should use additional contraceptive precautions such as condoms.
